Friday Flopped

Hey Y'all!
Unfortunately I only bought three DVD's yesterday at the junk store.
Bought one that has four different Hallmark Movies in one.  Oh, how I love a rainy wintery Saturday for movie watching.
The other two were for Robbie:
#1:  Wiggles on Safari
#2:  Disney's Aladdin

Total Spent:  $5.00

Thrifty Thursday

Hey Y'all!
I hope you've had a great week wherever you are!  Here are my finds from yesterday's trip to The Junk Store!
First--this adorable necklace!

Old Community Volunteer Fire Dept. Ruler  I've hot-glued it to my board I use to make hair bows!  Works like a charm!
 Another necklace--LOVE this one!
Cute little basketball pants that are Robbie's size!  He loves this kind of fabric...says it's SLICKIE!
An AWESOME little milk glass-like vase.  I don't think it's real milk glass, but I loved it!
Bought this shirt for the fabric!  I used it for a craft project that's already been completed!
LOVE this Old Navy Christmas shirt.  Actually found one for Halloween earlier and he loved it!
Total Spent:  $12.00

Wonderful Wednesday

Hey Y'all!
Yesterday's finds at my favorite junk store are below!  I got fussed at by some important people who said that they don't sell junk at that store.  I hope I didn't hurt their feelings.   It's such wonderful junk though--seriously!

First--a heavily insulated bag that I think was made to hold insulin and pump supplies.  It is the perfect little size for my digital camcorder!  Plenty of room for the charger, extra mini dvds, and SD cards too!  LOVE IT!
Robbie was so happy when I showed this book to him!  It's hardback and in excellent condition!  The pages are gold leafed on the edges.
Nice pair of black dress pants in my size!
Also found a jacket that is made by Villager, a Liz Claiborne company.  Love it as it's so comfy!
I debated on whether or not I wanted this jacket.  It is so ugly that it's cute!  Love the detail and it'll look great with anything!
Billie Letts is one of my favorite authors.  The book she's most well known for is, "Where the Heart Is."  This was also made into a movie a few years ago.

Total Spent:  $11.00

Ta-Da Tuesday!

Hey Y'all!
Well...all those bags by the front door of the thrift shop didn't offer much yesterday.  I'm hoping they haven't had time to put everything out yet.  More than likely, it was all clothes for little girls or skinny people--neither of which are ever on my shopping list!
So...not a lot bought yesterday, but I did HAVE to get the Battleship game (picture above) from 1967.  Don't you like how mother and daughter are slaving at the sink, washing dishes, while father and son are enjoying a nice "after dinner" game?!  Whew!
The reason I HAD to get it, is because Robbie has taken to playing Battleship with us.  Him and my daddy played Monday night before supper, so when I saw this OLD one, I had to have it.  I know he's gonna love it, but I think I'm going to put it up for later.  This game may be worth big money someday since it's already 43 years old!  Whew-wee!
After that, I looked through the VCR movies and found Monkey Trouble, The Bear, and Maisy's Friends.  Robbie LOVES Maisy and was so happy when I gave this to him yesterday.  The Bear is based on a children's book and is PERFECT for my 7th and 8th graders as we're doing Child Development right now.  They had to watch it (30 minutes of PEACE AND QUIET for me!) and then fill out a review sheet as to whether or not it would be appropriate for a preschooler.  They really enjoyed doing this activity!  Here's the picture of the tapes:
Total Spent:  $4.00

See you here tomorrow!

Monday's Junk

Hey Y'all!  Here's what I got yesterday at The Junk Store in my hometown!
 Hand Crocheted Scarf
Smooth, silky velvety scarf---gonna use it to make flowers for headbands with!
Black Ruffled (even though you can't tell) Scarf---to be made into headbands soon.
 Pair of vintage pillowcases...
 Large Vintage pillowcase
Lovely vintage Pillowcase--gonna add that to my HUGE old pillowcase collection!
2 oz plastic sauce cups--gonna make some smaller wax tarts using these as molds
1920s or 1930s Depression Glass Sugar Bowl (lid was missing)
This will be turned into a pin-cushion really soon!
Huge furry feelin' purse in Cheetah print--just because I'm sassy like that!  ha ha
Inside of the bag---actually I'm planning on using this as a camera case for my new Canon Rebel digital camera!  Plenty of room!!

OOOH!
I think KNOW I love Monday's junk at The Junk Store!
Total Spent:  $8.00
--Yep, daassss rite!

P.S.  As I drove by there this morning, after dropping Robbie off at daycare, I noticed a BUNCH of bags had been left by the front door!  CAN'T WAIT Y'ALL!!

Welcome Junkin' Friends

Hey Y'all!

I am starting this blog to keep a record of what I find on my daily junkin' runs at my favorite local thrift store in North Carolina.
You can usually find me over at Doublewide Dreamer, but I wanted to dedicate this blog to my junkin' stuff so that I can keep track of it and to remind myself why I bought certain things that I buy!
On my way home, between getting out of school (I'm a middle school teacher) and picking up my son from daycare, I have to stop and see what's for sale at my local thrift shop.  I remember seeing an episode of Hoarders that portrayed a woman going thriftin' everyday...hmmm....maybe I should call her!  Anyway, for the lovers of junk or for those who look at something and see something YOU could make OUT OF the junk there on the shelf, this blog will be just for you!
Tell all your friends too!  As soon as I hit 50 followers, I'll send out a FREE junkin' gift!

I'll be back tomorrow to show you what I bought!
